Helping seniors move to a new home
Preparing to move is stressful but is even more difficult if you’ve lived in the same home for decades.
At Room-by-Room Downsizing, we understand the logistical and emotional challenges that come with this major life transition. You don't have to shoulder this weight alone.
Whether you need help for yourself or your parents, our goal is to lessen your stress and help ease the transition—so you can sleep soundly at night.
We charge by the hour so you can select the number of hours that best fits your budget.
Downsizing and Decluttering
We will work at your pace to:
Sort items to be moved with you so you only pay to move what you need and love—and what will fit in your new home
Manage the donation, recycling, shredding, and disposal of items that aren’t moving to empty and prepare your home to sell
Discuss ways you can decide to leave certain treasures to family or friends
We will create a customized plan to manage your move from start to finish, including:
Coordinating with the movers to relieve you of those details
Creating a new floor plan for all your items so you can feel confident your belongings will fit
Unpacking items and setting up your new home so you can immediately sleep in your bed on clean sheets and don't have to worry about where to put stray boxes or used packing materials
There’s a lot to keep track of when you move, including changing your address (beyond what the post office provides), transferring your newspaper subscriptions, and canceling your cable. We’re happy to check these details off your to-do list with our "change of address" package.
Supporting Bereaved Families
We are sensitive to the needs of families who need help handling logistical issues after the death of a loved one, such as:
Shipping or disposing items to empty and prepare a home for sale
Searching for misplaced family treasures
Cleaning out storage lockers to avoid unwanted monthly bills

As a Certified Senior Advisor ®, I’m focused on the important issues of aging, including where you call home in your later years. I’m also a member of the National Association of Senior and Specialty Move Managers and abide by their code of ethics—chiefly, that the person who is moving is my client no matter who is paying the bill.
I spent years in the corporate world managing projects and as a volunteer listening to seniors’ stories. I use those skills to help my clients successfully navigate the logistics of downsizing, decluttering, and moving while respecting all the emotions that come with this major life transition.
